40th Postgraduate Symposium: Heterocyclic and Synthesis Group
The 40th Annual Postgraduate Symposium of the Heterocyclic and Synthesis Group will take place on Monday 7th September 2026 in the Department of Chemistry, University of York, YO10 5DD.
The event will feature eight lectures from final-year postgraduate students, selected from submitted abstracts, as well as two plenary lectures from leading academics, to be announced. There will also be flash talks and a poster session during the lunch break, open to postgraduate students at any stage of their studies as well as other interested presenters. Prizes will be awarded for the best postgraduate lecture, flash presentation, and poster.
The event will begin at 10:00 and end by 17:30. Lunch, along with coffee and tea, will be provided by the Heterocyclic and Synthesis Group. Attendance is free for all postgraduate students; however, registration is essential.
We invite all postgraduate researchers interested in giving an oral, flash or poster presentation to submit an abstract for consideration by the Heterocylic and Synthesis Group committee. To do so, please follow the instructions outlined in the ‘Abstract Template’ document attached.
Reasonable travel expenses for speakers will be paid by the Heterocyclic and Synthesis Group.
