Chemical Sciences Research Symposium
The third research symposium.
Sheffield and District ºÚÁÏÉçÇø committee invite you to a research symposium for local researchers to celebrate the breadth and quality of research in Sheffield. We would like to bring together local scientists from Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Forensic Science, Biosciences, Nanomaterials, Material Science, and any other 'chemically' related research.
The idea is that predominantly PhD students and early researchers (and maybe final year students if they are around and keen) would come together to show their research. Please submit your research poster abstract by 5th June 2026.
Themes for the symposium are-
Synthesis and Molecular Design: Organic/inorganic synthesis, catalysis (including organometallic and heterogeneous), polymer science, and molecular machine.
Chemical, Materials & Biological Engineering: Nanomaterials, biomaterials
Biological Mechanisms & Molecular Interactions: Enzymatic catalysis, protein-ligand interactions, signaling pathways, structural biology, cancer biology, microbiology and biochemical function
Innovation in Analytical & Imaging Techniques: Spectroscopy, microscopy, biosensors, NMR, MS, imaging tools, diagnostic methods.
The event will have four keynote presentations from both Sheffield Hallam University and the University of the Sheffield.
